Welcome to IguanaCart ("we," "our," or "us"). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use the IguanaCart app and its connected services, including recipe creation and sharing.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture to create your IguanaCart account.

2.2 App Activity

We store information you voluntarily create in the app, such as shopping lists, items, recipe content (title, ingredients, images, instructions), and user interactions (saving or sharing recipes, using the cookbook).

2.3 Automatically Collected Data

  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • App usage patterns and performance metrics
  • IP addresses, time of access, and feature usage logs

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide core services (lists, recipes, cookbook, automations)
  • To sync your data securely across devices using Firebase Cloud Firestore
  • To maintain authentication and session security
  • To contact users about new features or admin requests (e.g., recipe publication)
  • To analyse aggregated usage metrics (anonymous)

4. Information You Choose to Share Publicly

Users may create private or shared recipes. Private recipes are visible only to you. Shared recipes generate a shareable link visible to anyone with access to that link. Public recipes are visible to all users on the Discover page and are only approved or made public by IguanaCart administrators.

5. Data Storage & Security

  • Data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, and Storage).
  • Images uploaded with recipes are stored in Google Cloud Storage.
  • All connections are encrypted (HTTPS/TLS).

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

6. Premium Plan (“IguanaCart Extra”)

Paid users’ subscription and billing data are processed securely by Stripe. IguanaCart does not store any payment card numbers.

7. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data at any time.

  • Delete your account and recipes via the “My Account” page.
  • Request export of your data (JSON format) by contacting us.
  • Opt out of promotional emails; we only send service‑related notifications.

8. Data Retention

We retain user data as long as needed to provide the service or comply with legal obligations. Deleted users’ account data and recipes are permanently erased.

9. Children's Privacy

IguanaCart is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

Updates to this policy will be posted in‑app and on our website. The “Last Updated” date will reflect the modifications.
